I had a thought. It'd be grand to meet tb1600 faces some year (sooner than later while Dave and other ole timers are riding :) in the middle of the US (for East and West coast riders). And reach out to other Triumph forums to join. I'm not the organizer but would contribute....

This may get little or no traction but riding new territory w/ friends is the best

It would be nice Mr AZ, but as you say that would take a lot of planning
As for Dave, not so sure. He rides alot but he never makes it to Bennington Vt

I'm on board with this idea, however it's been knocked around a few times in the past.
Arkansas is a good middle of America location with great roads. There's a small gathering of Triumph enthusiasts who meet in Ark every year . I'm sure they would welcome any and all riders.
This years event is based in Hot Springs, October 12-15th

Well, the chance is right in the Blue Ridge Mountains on 9/22 & 23.
Blue Ridge British Bike Rally.
Look for details in the Events section.

The ride may be fun, but in the Great Scheme of things, it really is about the destination! John 3:16

Well gee.... 4 riders with interest! Unfortunately I'm not able to take off for 6 months to a year (moving back to Prescott area). I myself would plan for 1 1/2 weeks on the road.
Dave just needs motivation...he could be guest speaker demonstrating valve adjustment under a full moon

Put next year's on the calendar. 9/21 & 22 - 2018
Maybe Dave needs 6 months or so of no heckling to be able to find the nerve.
(Don't have to start until next March!)

Hot Springs, Arkansas sounds interesting too and Kansas is centrally located...roughly 1500 miles from the East and West coats. I'm not familiar with Kansas events, rallies and roads. Link

I've been to Kansas, flat as a pancake and windy as fuk. Not a motorcycle destination

Any thoughts on Nebraska or Oklahoma?

@ VABird: Dave has yet to comment so that means he's thinking about it.
I'm sure daz is onboard, he needs to get out of LA

Oklahoma very much like Kansas. Parts of Nebraska are nice, northwestern part of the state. However it's a very windy state also.
The eastern half of Colorado also flat and windy.

Again while not exactly central US, Arkansas is your best midway point with great motorcycle riding.
Keeping in mind, it's not the destination but the ride there

The best part of OK is to the southeast close to AR. Tahlahina drive going to Mena has a good road. Eureka, springs Ar is a good place to base some good rides from. We go there or Hot Springs every year w a group of Triumph enthusiasts.

Arkansas might need serious consideration for next year.

With months of notice, planning, etc., we can't get Dave!!! to go 250 miles to Bennington. He never watches the Events or Rides sections. Just all of the other posts.

Only way to get Dave!!! out for a ride is for everyone to show up at his driveway!!!

Jamie

PS - Oh, but I'd love to try to meet up. Work travel dictates availability, so I'll keep my eyes open for updates!

If you guys have a rally in AR I'll be there. As far as Dave I think that is way out of his comfort zone. He just rides in big circles to get to 120K miles. Either that or he is really some pimply 15 year old at a computer making shit up. Has anyone actually ever seen him?

lol. I've had the pleasure of talking to a Dave on the phone but for all I know it could be a computer generated voice.

Guys,

Ozark mountain Rat Raid 10 or 11th year. June at Harrison, Ark. Some of the best riding in country. Will post date soon. Guess we have plenty of time. Usually only see a couple of Big T-Birds there. Great time.

ride safe
